XRP’s price (XRP-USD) fell 5% over the past month as buyers backed away. The token now trades near $1, a key level that acts as a main line of defense. A jump in XRP’s price looks unlikely right now as falling ETF flows and low trading activity point to more downward risk instead. “If XRP loses the $1 support, the odds of a drop to $0.80 will increase dramatically,” noted crypto analyst Alejandro Arrieche in a market report.
Daily trading volume for XRP fell to $580 million on August 1. This low figure shows weak buying interest for the token across major exchanges. In fact, total trading made up less than 1% of XRP’s circulating supply.
Investor deposits into XRP ETFs also dropped in July. Monthly ETF flows reached just $27 million, marking a 54% decline from June totals. A late push of $13 million between July 30 and July 31 kept monthly numbers in positive territory. Without these late deposits, XRP ETF flows would have turned negative for the first time since March.
Meanwhile, high central bank interest rates continue to keep investors away from risky digital assets.
Higher XRP Exchange Deposits Signal Selling Risk
Technical charts point to growing pressure on XRP. The token is forming a lower triangle pattern on daily price charts. This shape shows sellers remain in firm control of XRP’s price trends. The Relative Strength Index sits at 43, showing that downward price speed is picking up. Technical traders view a drop below 40 as a sign to lower risk.
Data on the blockchain shows more XRP tokens moving onto crypto exchanges. High exchange deposits often show that large holders are preparing to sell their coins, especially as recovery hopes fade away.
If selling pressure pushes XRP below the $1 floor, low trading volume could speed up the drop. Small trades can move prices easily when overall trading stays low. Under this scenario, analysts expect price targets to fall toward $0.80. This move represents a 20% price drop from current support levels.
At the time of writing, XRP’s price is sitting at $1.0646.
