Cardano’s Price (ADA) Aces Its Recovery Efforts with Explosive 30% Rally following the Fed’s Interest Rate Move

Cardano (ADA-USD) has crushed its recovery efforts this week after jumping from $0.19 to $0.26 to outperform most major digital coins. This price jump comes as the wider crypto market recovers following the Federal Reserve’s September 16 interest rate move. Financial markets had already expected the rate change, so its release cleared up market doubts and sparked new buying across top tokens. With Bitcoin (BTC-USD) climbing past $87,000, traders moved funds into large altcoins, helping Cardano outpace the general market rise.

Traders are now watching closely to see if this move marks the start of a lasting upward trend or just a brief price surge.

Short Squeezes Propel Cardano’s Price Higher

Strong trading volume in derivative markets is driving the price jump for Cardano. Exchange data shows active futures contracts rising to 2.37 billion tokens as new money entered the market. Funding rates also turned positive, showing that buyers are paying extra fees to hold open long positions.

At the same time, traders betting against the coin faced large losses. Bearish traders made up more than 80% of all closed positions, forcing them to buy back $2.49 million worth of Cardano in 24 hours. These forced buys added extra push to the token, driving it past previous key resistance levels.

Cardano’s Network Activity Shows Strong Fundamental Growth

Data from Cardano’s blockchain shows real network usage backing up ADA’s price gain. Daily transactions on Cardano’s network climbed 71% to hit 33,919, while active wallet addresses reached a weekly high of 16,388.

Market mood improved further on September 21 after the Cardano Foundation announced that Cardano joined the official x402 software kit. This tool lets automated AI tools pay for web services instantly using ADA or native tokens without creating accounts or entering card details. This rise in activity also shows that Cardano has moved past earlier concerns over a June wallet key security issue.

Cardano’s Support Levels Sit Between $0.239 and $0.245

Cardano broke through two main technical price hurdles during its weekly run. ADA climbed past its 200-day moving average at $0.239 and moved above horizontal resistance at $0.245. Together, these two price points now act as a solid support floor between $0.239 and $0.245.

However, momentum tools warn of a possible short-term cooldown. The relative strength index sits above 72, which signals overbought conditions that often lead to brief price pauses or minor pullbacks.

Key Price Targets for Cardano Traders Moving Forward

Traders are tracking three clear paths for Cardano over the coming weeks:

  • Bullish Path: Cardano stays above support at $0.239, moves past $0.262, and targets $0.285 before trying to reach the $0.30 price level.
  • Base Path: The token cools down from overbought levels and trades between $0.24 and $0.26 to build a steady base for another run in October.
  • Bearish Path: Cardano drops below $0.239 on a daily close, leaving the token open to a fall back toward $0.22 or $0.20 where the September move started.

At the time of writing, ADA’s price is sitting at $0.2524.
