Getaround ( ($GETR) ) has provided an update.
On April 22, 2026, Getaround’s subsidiaries agreed to sell, and effective April 30, 2026 consummated the sale of, the company’s European car-sharing business to Denmark-based GoMore ApS for approximately 31.5 million euros in cash and a non-interest-bearing promissory note, plus up to 2.3 million euros in additional tax-credit receivables. The deal includes customary indemnities tied to the note and follows Getaround’s previously announced February 7, 2025 decision to wind down its U.S. operations, marking a major step in its broader exit from operating businesses.
In a related April 8, 2026 agreement, major creditor Mudrick Capital consented to the European sale and, upon closing, treated a prior super priority secured promissory note as fully satisfied, cutting about $121.7 million of senior secured debt, while also providing up to $3 million in new super-priority funding to support the wind-down. On June 5, 2026, Getaround’s board determined that dissolving the company under Delaware law is in the best interests of the company and its residual claimants and plans to seek shareholder approval for a formal dissolution and liquidation process, with Mudrick indicating support subject to certain conditions.
