Straiker entered the week with a major funding milestone, securing a $64 million Series A round that lifts its total capital raised to $85 million. The financing was led by Marathon Management Partners, Citi Ventures, Illuminate Financial, and Workday Ventures, with existing backers Bain Capital Ventures and Lightspeed doubling down on the AI security specialist.
The new capital will support accelerated product development, expansion of Straiker’s STAR Labs threat research, and rapid international go-to-market efforts as demand outpaces internal forecasts. Marathon founding partner Gokul Rajaram is joining the board, signaling investor confidence in Straiker’s strategy to define the emerging category of security for enterprise AI agents.
Straiker’s platform focuses on securing autonomous AI agents that enterprises are deploying at scale, a market IDC expects to exceed one billion agents by 2029. Its offering spans discovery of all agents in an organization, adversarial testing before deployment, and runtime monitoring and enforcement, all tied together by an intelligence layer that leverages live threat data to improve defenses.
STAR Labs has highlighted the unique risks of these systems, reporting that over one-third of successful attacks on coding agents can lead to remote code execution and that most attacks on productivity agents enable silent data exfiltration. The research arm also collaborates with frontier AI labs to track emerging attack techniques, helping Straiker keep its detection and mitigation capabilities ahead of evolving threats.
Operationally, Straiker has reported more than 15x growth in run-rate revenue in less than a year since its 2025 launch, becoming a partner to both frontier AI labs and Fortune 500 enterprises. Management plans to use the funding to meet enterprise pull by scaling sales coverage and deepening capabilities for securing both in-house and third-party agents in sensitive environments.
To drive this expansion, Straiker appointed Sriram “Sri” Puthucode as chief revenue officer, tasking him with tripling the business and formalizing a global go-to-market engine. His arrival coincides with the buildout of regional leadership in EMEA and ongoing expansion in APJ, positioning the company for broader international reach.
CEO Ankur Shah and CTO Sreenath Kurupati aim to position Straiker as a foundational vendor for governing and protecting agentic workforces as they gain privileged system and data access. Collectively, the fresh capital, board reinforcement, and CRO appointment mark a pivotal week that strengthens Straiker’s capacity to scale and compete in the rapidly growing AI-agent security market.
