Steven Mnuchin of Liberty Strategic Capital and the former Secretary of the Treasury said that U.S. financial regulators were supportive of his investment deal with New York Community Bancorp, adding that he views NYCB as a three to five year transaction. It is is current intent to “stay and run my business,” added Mnuchin, who says there many be an opportunity to acquire other banks in time. Mnuchin made the comments while being interviewed on CNBC.
